Role

As ESG & Impact Officer you will be part of a two-person team responsible for developing and implementing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) and impact assessment within Triple Jump’s investment process. Focus will be on evaluating ESG and impact (ex-ante and ex-post) of debt, equity and fund investments, as well as on portfolio level assessment and reporting. You will report to the Social Performance & Impact Manager and interact with different departments: Regional Officers, Debt, Fund of Funds and Investor Relations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ESG, social performance and impact analysis of debt, equity and fund investment proposals and present opinion at investment committees;
  • Assess and report annual impact performance at the investee, fund and company level;
  • Report on funds’ impact to clients and generate impact information for external communication;
  • Optimise ESG and social performance assessment policies and process and ensure compliance therewith;
  • Develop and maintain social performance assessment tools and train investment officers on their use;
  • Represent Triple Jump in sector level initiatives and conferences related to ESG and impact;
  • Facilitate third party impact evaluations of investments.

Job requirements

  • University degree in Economics, Finance or related field;
  • A minimum of four years of experience in evaluating ESG and/or development impact;
  • Preference for prior experience with emerging market investments and/or financial sector development;
  • Passionate about sustainability and socio-economic development in emerging markets;

Job description

As Support Officer you will join the TJAS team and assist the team with a variety of administrative, organizational and research-oriented tasks.

The successful candidate will be involved in/support:

  • Qualitative and quantitative desk research on specific sectors, countries, financing instruments, etc.;
  • Coordination of local and international events;

Role

You will join the Business Development/ Investor Relations team. In this position, you will be responsible for the day to day relationship management and communication with investors (clients). Role

In the further professionalization of the organization, Internal Audit is set as a separate function. From its independent position, the Internal Auditor advises management on governance, policy and control of the effectiveness, efficiency and legitimacy of business and policy processes. As Internal Auditor within Triple Jump, you are ultimately responsible for further developing the role. In addition to determining the audit universe, making a risk analysis for the annual plan together with the Compliance Officer and the Risk Officer, you also contribute to the annual plan and report about findings to the external Supervisory Board. You will be responsible for follow up of the outcomes. Other tasks include revising the procedures handbook and consultation with the external auditor regarding process (ISAE) and financial controls (annual statements of the company and the funds under management). In addition to these formal tasks, you play an important role in making the added value of Internal Audit role visible for the organization and introducing Internal Audit to Triple Jump’s regional offices overseas. A proactive role in improving control is essential. The Interim Internal Auditor will report to the CEO (hierarchical) and COO (functional) and you have a direct line to the Supervisory Board.

As a Senior Fund Accountant, you are responsible for:

  • setting up the financial accounting (ledger);
  • execution of the Valuation Policy for Triple Jump managed funds and mandates;
  • preparation of the NAV for a number of funds; control of the accounting and valuation for other funds;
  • presenting NAV calculation to Valuation Committee;
  • preparing internal and client reports regarding financial performance (monthly statements, quarterly reports, (semi-) annual reports);
  • ensuring that the administered funds comply with relevant laws and regulations (including fiscal laws) when it comes to the administrative records and financial reporting;
  • further developing the cost hedge accounting regulations;
  • contributing to the optimization of processes and data capture;
  • coaching one junior team member, training and knowledge sharing of other colleagues;

Job requirements

Senior Portfolio Manager

Role

As Senior Portfolio Manager, you will be the prime responsible for the management of several funds investing mainly in microfinance and private equity.  As a senior member of the team, you will support junior members, represent the department in different internal and external committees. Your focus will be on two main activities.

The fund management activities involving liquidity management, top down pipeline management, hedging, asset allocation, risk monitoring,  developing and enhancing relationships with stakeholders and other departments, providing reporting in time, maintain a direct line of communication with investors/fund sponsors and produce regular fund reports.

The second focus of the role is fundamental research. You will cover one or two regions, identify the fundamental shifts and implement our asset allocation decisions. You will need to have a qualitative and quantitative approach, writing internal publications, being able to run scenario analysis and stress testing of portfolios through various house systems, developing and improving the investment process.

The Senior Portfolio Manager will report to the Head of Portfolio Management in an international team of four professionals. The successful candidate will interact with different departments: Finance, Legal, Regional officers, Debt, Fund of Funds and Private Equity. The position may evolve to Deputy Head of Portfolio Management.

Head of Legal

Expectations

As Head of Legal you will be responsible for all the legal aspects of our investment process.  Accordingly, you will provide legal advice on and negotiate various private equity, fund and debt transactions, cooperating closely with our commercial teams and support functions.  You will provide in support setting up new investment and governance structures and supervise external counsels TJ employs. You will manage the current legal team (6 FTE) and coach other team members. We expect you have profound knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment TJ operates in. You will report directly to the Director Fund Services and act as a sparring partner for the Executive Board.

Senior Product Manager New Investment Fund Initiative

40 hrs per week, based in Amsterdam with occasional travel

Triple Jump targets financial sector development and invests in institutions that service the bottom of the pyramid. Triple Jump offers professional fund management services to investors, ranging from asset selection, to portfolio management to fund administration. Thanks to mandates from multiple investors Triple Jump can provide services to financial intermediaries in all stages of their development. Triple Jump investees include financial institutions (ranging from NGOs receiving their first funding, all the way to regulated banks) and investment funds, in developing countries.

Expectations / Description of Role

As Senior Product Manager New Investment Fund Initiative, you are responsible for the coordination of the development of a new fund proposition, which in essence is financing the development and implementation of clean & basic utility services and related infrastructure in Emerging Markets. You will take-over a project which has passed its feasibility phase and where the product development phase has been launched. You will lead a dedicated project team that is reporting to a project steering committee formed by Triple Jump directors. This implies being involved in all aspects of the set up of the fund, including finetuning of the strategy, structuring, building the pipeline and winning prospective investors in close cooperation with other members of the project team.

Job Requirements

  • University degree or similar, preferably in Engineering, Finance, Economics or related fields;
  • > 5 years of relevant investment experience;
  • Demonstrable track record in private equity or project finance (direct or Fund of Fund with the intermediary funds investing in clean energy) preferred;
  • Strong project management skills
  • Product management skills preferred
  • Thorough understanding of renewable energy businesses and project/asset finance structures preferred
  • Additional work experience in management consulting or the financial sector preferred;
  • Demonstrated capability to establish new structures and work independently as part of a small, dedicated project team;
  • Experience in fund raising is a plus;
  • Work experience in development countries a plus;
  • Existing network of partners relevant to the fulfilment of the position a plus;
  • Willingness to travel for Market Development Purposes;
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills;
  • Fluent in English, knowledge of Dutch, French and/or Spanish a plus.

Investment Officer Africa & Middle East (English & French speaking)

Full time, Duty station: Nairobi, Kenya

The funds we manage reach out to in excess of 442,000 micro, small and medium enterprises in 60+ low and middle income countries.

Expectations

As an Investment Officer you are responsible for the identification, appraisal, processing and supervision of loans to financial institutions in Africa. You ideally have an extensive regional network of partners and other people/institutions relevant to the fulfillment of your position. The position requires frequent travel to countries within the region. You will be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The position is initially for 1 year. If successful, the candidate will be offered a contract beyond the initial 1 year.

 

Job requirements

This position requires a strong finance background, acquired through studies in a relevant field and at least three years of relevant work experience at a fund manager, MFI or other financial institution. You have experience with analysing financial statements and dealing with legal and organisational issues as part of the due diligence process. You have demonstrable communication skills and are able to disseminate knowledge and mediate between different views. Your negotiation skills are excellent and, above all, you are capable of representing the funds we manage. You feel comfortable working in a team while independently developing new and managing existing markets. You are fluent in English and French (both speaking and writing) and ideally have work experience in developing countries.
