ARARIWA is a microfinance institution (MFI) providing financial services in Peru. The MFI offers village banking, individual loans and life insurance. The main product is village banking making up more than nine-tenths of the total outstanding portfolio. The NGO has three different units namely education, microfinance and vocational training centre. Arariwa targets clients located in very remote rural areas of the department of Cusco in southeastern Peru. Arariwa was founded in 1977 as a development institution promoting agricultural and livestock production and formal and informal vocational education in rural areas. In October 1993 the credit programme became an independent unit in the NGO and functions since 1999 as MFI. Arariwa is a client of Triple Jump (debt funding) since 2010.
