IMF HEKIMA SC
Hekima is a microfinance institute providing small group loans mainly to women engaged in small-scale trading in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Its product range includes village banking, group loans and agricultural loans. It is the largest and most successful MFI in Kivu, a region in eastern DRC. It also covers the North and South DRC regions, with branches in Goma and Bukavu. The majority of clients are served through community bank loans (35 – 40 members). Hekima was established by World Relief (international development organization) at the end of a 5-year civil war in Kivu in 2003. It was spin-off into a separate company in 2007. Hekima is a client of Triple Jump (debt funding) since 2011.
