Before joining the IRBD team, Selma worked at Triple Jump for two years as a Technical Assistance Manager for the Dutch Good Growth Fund. She is specialized in gender lens investing. Prior to Triple Jump she worked for the Dutch Government. As a private sector development coach, she was responsible for projects aimed at strengthening the local business climate and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Mozambique, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa. Prior to that she worked on microfinance field research in Ghana, Uganda and Kenya. Selma holds a MSc in International Relations from the University of Amsterdam and a BSc in Political Science from Leiden University, including a semester at Stellenbosch University in South-Africa. She is a Dutch national, fluent in Dutch and English and with a basic command of French and German.
