Our story so far

Triple Jump B.V. was created after spinning off from Oxfam Novib in 2006. We have grown a lot since then – from a small team focused on financial inclusion, to 115+ Jumpers across 6 offices, working on different functions towards managing or advising seven investment funds, portfolios, or mandates, all of which have a dual objective to deliver impact and financial returns.

Prior to joining Triple Jump, Claudia worked for more than 12 years at Kempen Capital Management, a Dutch asset manager. She has held positions as a Project Manager, mainly structuring investment funds, as an Operations Manager, and as an Account Manager for Institutional Relations. Previously, Claudia worked as a Private Banker at Van Lanschot Bankiers. She holds a degree in Economics from the University of Maastricht. Claudia is a Dutch national and speaks Dutch, English, French and Spanish.

Steven Evers is a co-founder of Triple Jump where he is responsible for overall strategy, business development and portfolio management. Prior to joining Triple Jump, Steven held positions in banking and consulting at FMO, KBC and at the ING Bank. Steven has been active in the impact investing sector for 20 years, working both in the field and as a fund manager. Steven has an MBA from the IESE Business School in Barcelona and a degree in Economics from the University of Amsterdam. He is a Dutch National and speaks Dutch, English and Spanish.

Jarri Jung, Director of Financial Institutions, joined Triple Jump in 2012. He initially worked on the implementation of a new MIS system and was involved in the setup of Triple Jump as an AIFM licensed investment company. He then moved to the commercial team in Latin America, where he started as a Portfolio Analyst in Lima and later as an investment officer in Mexico. In 2015, Jarri transitioned to Nairobi as Investment Officer in the Africa Middle East team. From 2017 onwards, he has overseen Triple Jump’s debt investment portfolio as Regional Manager of Africa and Middle East. As of September 2019, Jarri heads up the Financial Institutions team. Jarri holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and HR, and a Master’s degree in Strategic Management from Tilburg University (Netherlands). He is a Dutch National and speaks Dutch, English and Spanish.

Prior to joining Triple Jump, Tatiana served as a senior credit MSME advisor at BFC, Swiss-German consulting company, where she participated at a variety of micro lending capacity building assignments with banks and MFIs. Tatiana’s areas of expertise include Credit and Financial analysis, Strategy development, Risk management and Internal audit. Tatiana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Banking from Moldovan Academy of Economics. She also studied Business Administration at Susquehanna University, USA. Tamar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Georgian American University (GAU). She has also covered Financial Quantitative and Risk Management program in GAU and participated in Changing Program Conducted by KPMG Sweden – Poverty Reduction (Fiscal Decentralization, Program budgeting). Prior to joining Triple Jump in 2016, Olivier worked as Investment Officer in the MENA region at Triodos Investment Management. Before joining the impact investment industry, Olivier gained extensive experience in financial services, working at the international department of one of the bigger leasing companies worldwide. Working for ‘Credits’ (a Dutch MFI) as a coach for small entrepreneurs, Olivier developed his interest for microfinance. He also spent five years working as a Senior Investment Analyst at Symbiotics in Cape Town covering Sub-Saharan Africa. Before joining the impact investment industry, Ryan worked in asset securitization in New York. His first exposure to microfinance and impact investment occurred while he served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps (Dominican Republic and Zambia), where he focused on grassroots projects that supported education and community economic development. Ryan holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Cape Town. Ryan is an American national and speaks English.

Valentine has over 5.5 years of experience in the Project and Development Finance sector. Prior to joining Triple Jump, Valentine worked for 2 years in the Energy Access industry at Equatorial Power, a start-up for which she was based in Kampala, Uganda. As a Finance and Business Development Manager, she was responsible for the company’s fundraising activities (Equity, Corporate and Project Debt, Grant), as well as for its project’s structuration and development. Previously, she worked for more than 3 years as a Senior Consultant at H3P Financial Advisory, a Paris based consulting firm, focused on infrastructure projects, for which she supported many multinational and investment funds in project investments deals. Valentine holds a Master in Finance with a speciality in Energy and Environment Finance. She is a French national and speaks French and English.

Before I&P, he worked at an investment advisory firm, structuring deals across Africa. Seleu holds a Master's degree in International Relations with a specialization in International Banking and Finance from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC). He is a Cameroonian national and is fluent in both French and English.

Prior to joining Triple Jump, Sylvie worked for over twelve years at MicroFinanza Rating, an international rating agency specialized in inclusive finance, as a Senior Analyst also covering the positions of Regional Manager for Africa (until 2015) and Head of the Tender Unit and Deputy Regional Manager for South East Asia. In her financial analyst role, she conducted over 100 financial and social ratings, due diligence assignments, and client protection certifications mainly in Africa and Asia. Sylvie holds an MSc in Economics and Management of Public Administration and International Organizations from Bocconi University (Italy) and a Postgraduate Master Degree in Development and International Cooperation (CID Bologna, Italy). She is an Italian and French native speaker and fluent in English.

He started his career working for 10+ yrs at ABB &amp; ALSTOM in various technical and commercial functions in the power generation industry. He worked before in Cleantech Venture Capital, working with technology start-ups in the field of renewables &amp; energy efficiencies, or sustainable water and e-mobility. Before joining Triple Jump, he was a Partner at Obviam AG, the manager of the Swiss DFI mandate SIFEM, responsible for fund and direct investments in Asia. He also served on investment committees and advised as technical expert European DFI co-investments vehicles targeting sustainable infrastructure projects in Emerging Markets. Jan holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hanover (Germany) and a MBA from HEC Paris (France).

Prior to joining Triple Jump, Darren worked in the investment strategy team for Australian Retirement Trust as an Associate Portfolio Manager for the global equities portfolio. He was responsible for the top down asset allocation strategy as well as providing macro-economic analysis. He has worked in various asset allocation and equity research roles in Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, and Ireland since 2007. He has been responsible for both buy and sell-side equity research, and developing multi-asset strategies and investment processes, including research, asset allocation, and security selection. Darren has a Bachelor of Finance from the University College Cork and has also passed the CFA level I exam.

Before Triple Jump, she was a consultant at iGravity, advising development agencies, foundations, and international NGOs on the design and implementation of innovative finance initiatives. Over the past years, she has also been involved in various advisory and research work in the affordable housing space. Juliette holds a dual master's degree in Finance &amp; Strategy from Sciences Po Paris and in International Affairs &amp; Governance from the University of St Gallen. She is a French and Canadian national.

Other former roles include: associate of Triple Jump's Fund Investments team and relationship manager in the impact investing team of Actiam (Dutch Asset Manager). She holds a Msc. Lara joined the Corporate Secretary at TJ as legal assistant in October 2022. Prior to TJ, Lara was the case manager of the Portuguese Desk in a Dutch Law firm and intern at the International Criminal Court. Lara is from Brazil, where she obtained her Bachelor degree and Bar qualification and practiced Law in two Brazilian Law firms. Lara was also member of a pro bono organization, providing voluntary legal services in São Paulo, Brazil. She is currently finalizing her LLM in International Technology Law at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Chloe joins Triple Jump's Sustainable Energy team, after obtaining over five years of strategy and capital raise experience with Open Capital, a management consulting and financial advisory firm working with small and growing businesses, investors and development partners to accelerate growth and investment across Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Chloe has experience in delivering strategic solutions and facilitating investment for impactful businesses in sub-Saharan Africa across sectors including, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Water and Sanitation and Health (WASH), Financial Services, and Manufacturing. Under Open Capital, she led a Ugandan investment readiness program which supported ~40 small and growing businesses to tackle their financial and operational challenges; this technical support facilitated capital raise of ~$3 million from both international and local investors. Chloe holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (Bcom) from Makerere University Business School and a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland.

At OCA, Nekesa worked in various roles on projects across SSA specifically in agriculture, health, renewable off-grid energy, and water, sanitation &amp; hygiene (WASH), where much of the work focused on assessing creditworthiness of institutions and identifying pre- &amp; post-investment support opportunities to ensure effective capital and resource mobilization. Nekesa holds a Bsc. In Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi where she graduated with a First-Class Honors. She has completed eight actuarial professional papers under the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries of the UK. Nekesa is a Kenyan national, and she speaks Kiswahili and English.

Before that, she worked as a Team Lead in the General Inspection unit, where she gained extensive experience in auditing and advising Crédit Agricole affiliates on their strategy, operations and risk management in Europe, Asia and the US. Gaétane holds an Engineering degree from Supélec (France) and a MSc in Mathematical Finance from Imperial College London. She is a French national and speaks French and English.

As a Technical Assistance Manager for the Energy Entrepreneurs Growth Fund at Triple Jump, Kevin Barasa Wafula has a wealth of experience in the energy access field. Starting as a co-founder of Wake Energy in 2013, providing solar lighting solutions, he later joined EED Advisory in 2015 where he led and assisted in various projects promoting access to modern energy, including coordinating a €2-million EU project promoting solar PV-based energy solutions in Kenya, managing an initiative to develop a US$5-million energy sector plan for Turkana county, and supervising a national household energy survey supported by the World Bank. From 2019 at Mercy Corps Energy 4 Impact, as Program Manager, he provided advisory services to mSME clients aiming to unlock clean energy access in sub-Saharan Africa, through various programs including Innovate UK Energy Catalyst, Powering Opportunities Partnership and Powering Renewable Energy Opportunities. He also conducted market research, mapping, and interviewing energy government officials, manufacturers, distributors, financiers, and beneficiaries of energy products across sub-Saharan Africa. He has designed a result-based financing scheme for solar home systems, improved cookstoves, mini-grids, and agri-business energy solutions in Eastern DRC. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Nairobi. Kevin is a Kenyan national and speaks English and Swahili.

Previously she worked in an energy access/clean cooking start-up as operational assistant. Jack joint Triple Jump in November 2023. Jack started his career at ABNAMRO bank and subsequently progressed his career at Telefonica and Deutsche Telekom in London. Here he held both commercial as well as financial roles. In 2019 Jack returned to Amsterdam and joint the scale-up PlaytoWork. At PlaytoWork Jack implemented a clear financial performance framework. Based on this framework the company was able to pivot to the right business model and find the sweet spot in the market. The financial transparency created by Jack, led to the company achieving its goals quicker. Jack holds an Economics degree from the Vrij Universiteit (the Netherlands) and completed his MBA as Purdue University (USA). In his spare time Jack enjoys playing tennis and escapes the city by rowing on the Amstel river.

Linda Broekhuizen is an experienced executive and non-executive director with extensive knowledge in sustainable impact investing across various regions. She is currently the chair of the board at Foodvalley NL, vice-chair of the supervisory board at the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT), and a member of the Development Cooperation Committee of the Dutch Advisory Council on International Affairs. Linda spent over 20 years at Dutch Development Bank FMO, including 8 years on the management board. She holds master’s degrees in International Relations and Business Administration, and a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Social Responsibility Management.

Per 1 June 2023 Dirk Elsen had been appointed as chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Triple Jump. Besides his position in the Supervisory Board of Triple Jump Dirk is non-executive board member in various impact sectors in The Netherlands and emerging markets.  Furthermore, he is active as mediator. Previously, Dirk was Director Emerging Markets at Triodos Investment Management, Chief executive at SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, and was also employed by ABN AMRO, the World Bank and the Shell Group in various positions. Dirk has studied law at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands and holds an LL.M. degree of the University of Georgia, Athens, Georgia, U.S.A.
